Village Bicycle Cooperative is a 100% volunteer-operated 501c3 nonprofit organization. We depend entirely on our volunteers to repair and safety check donated bicycles in preparation for their donation to disadvantaged communities. Furthermore, our volunteers create fun programs and events, as well as work to make bicycling safer in our region. There are many volunteer opportunities available for all skill levels. How to Start
Attend a Volunteer Orientation:
Village Bicycle Cooperative is a 100% volunteer-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. To get started as a volunteer, you’ll need to schedule an orientation. During this session, you’ll complete a waiver, provide emergency contact information, and get an introduction to our mission, shop procedures, and the various volunteer roles available. You’ll also receive a general tour of the shop and tools.
If you’re interested in volunteering as a mechanic, you’ll begin by working on either a single-speed or geared bike—whichever you're most comfortable with. A senior mechanic will be there to guide you through the safety checklist and repair steps.
If you have any questions or wish to schedule an orientation, then please email info@villagebicycle.org
